The Honda we’ve all been waiting for—the Civic Type R. It gets flared fenders, carbon fiber side skirts, a carbon fiber diffuser, 20-inch wheels, and a humongous rear wing. Like Honda’s other Type R models, it gets a red badge and a slew of other red accents
Unfortunately, this is still technically a concept even though it looks production-ready. And that means Honda has been silent on how much power it will get. The current Type R that’s on sale in Europe makes 306 horsepower from a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder, and we’ve heard a rumor the new one will have a full 340 horses from that same engine.
The Civic Type R concept will make its U.S. debut at SEMA in November. The production car will be unveiled in 2017, alongside the new Civic Si. When the production Type R arrives in the U.S., it will be the first Honda to wear that performance badge officially imported to this country.
